Eyepiece Caddy
|
- The "Caddy" is constructed "around" the pier. There is no contact for vibration free use.
- The "Caddy" is octagonal in shape.
- It was constructed as two halves held tightly together with table locks.
- The top shelf of the "Caddy" has large holes for the storage of most used eyepieces. This allows for an easy selection of an eyepiece.
- Also on the top shelf are drink coasters (for placing your favorite libation) and a telephone.
- Attached to the outside octagonal ring are miniature moveable platforms. These include
- mobile hooks for hanging the observatory remote control, Pier-Tech controller, and/or the telescope motion control hand paddle/joystick;
- mobile shelves for placing odds and ends;
- mobile eyepiece holder for the Coronado SolarMax II 60 - Double Stack telescope; and a
- mobile tray for the Powermate (for example). Attached via velcro under the mobile tray is an 8 outlet surge protector for power close to the telescope.
- The next shelf of the "Caddy" holds reference books and a musical system (CD, radio and iPod).
- The shelf below that is for the power supply and serves as a collection point for power blocks.
- And finally, running through the "south" side of the "Caddy" is a hole that allows the wires connected to the Paramount ME to effortlessly ride up and down as the Pier-Tech 3 lifts and lowers the telescope assembly.
