NEAIC - NorthEast Astro Imaging Conference - My Bio

Bob Antol has been an avid amateur astronomer for 50 years.

Bob is originally from Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University majoring in Mathematics.

After graduating from Iowa State in 1978, Bob started working for IBM in East Fishkill, New York. He worked in the Electronic Design Automation organization as a Senior Software Engineer. After working at IBM for 35 years, Bob finally retired.

Bob is married to his lovely wife, Barbara (a Math major from Pace University and also a retired IBM employee after 33 years). They will be celebrating 29 years of marriage in May. They share their house with 5 cats (Tycho, Sterling, Capella, Ramsey and Mothra) and live in Poughquag, New York.

Bob and Barb had an observatory incorporated onto an addition added to their home. Constructed in 2005, it took four months from groundbreaking to first light. The observatory is known as "Stargate 4173 at Grimaldi Tower".

Bob is currently on the Advisory Board for the Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University.
