Because the latitude / longitude of the observatory is 41 degrees 36 minutes 49 seconds N, 73 degrees 40 minutes 16 seconds W. Why Grimaldi Tower? Because our beloved cat, Grimaldi, passed away 3 weeks prior to the start of construction. The tower was named in his honor.
